International Sundays - Presented by the Lewiston Council on the Arts Celebrating local heritage and honoring 200 years of cultural diversity in Niagara County. Honor your heritage and enjoy the international folk music and cultures of other countries at our 6-week series of events. Featuring different ethnic groups each week.
”Balloons Over Niagara” A Bicentennial Event Presented by Niagara County Community College Hot-air balloons will be aloft when Niagara County Community College hosts “Balloons Over Niagara” on its Sanborn campus in conjunction with the Town of Cambria’s bicentennial celebration July 25-27. This free and open to the public event will feature over 20 hot-air balloons with a balloonist offering rides for $250. Rides are available at 6 p.m. July 25, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 26, and 7 a.m. July 27. The community is invited to see a balloon glow at 9 p.m. on July 25. In addition to the balloons, NCCC will be hosting a 5K run around campus and a community barbeque with live entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m. on July 25. On July 26-27, NCCC will be the site of food vendors, a community fair, ropes course, cultural events and much more beginning at 10 a.m.

African American Family Festival Presented by the Niagara Community Center Association, Inc. This festival celebrates the history of the African American Families in the Western New York area. The culture is celebrated through food, music, clothing, dance, art, poetry, and artifacts.
Niagara County Fair - Presented by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County Join us for the tradional youth fair. Educational displays, animal shows, entertainment, food, displays, and more!
24th Annual WNY High School Chalk Walk Competition Presented by the Lewiston Council on the Arts Our chalk walk is based on I Madonnari (street painters), an Italian tradition of street paintingthat dates back to the 18th century, and will be held during the 42nd anual Lewiston Art Festival. The competition will be held on a closed to traffic street. This years theme is "200 Years of Diversity".
Sanborn-Lewiston Farm Festival - Presented by the Sanborn Area Historical Society Join us for the 4th annual event held in our new farm museum, and be part of our grand opening. Events and activities include demonstations of blacksmithing, antique tractors and farm equipment, a car cruise, flea market,antiques and plenty of music, food and entertainment.
“Townball” Softball Tournament Presented by the Bicentennial Commission That old American pastime beckons you to the shores of Lake Ontario at Krull Park in Olcott beginning at 10:00 am on August 16. Taste of Lockport - Presented by the Lockport Business Association Join us for the 8th annual event! Area restaurants and wineries in a park like setting for sampling and tasting.
11th Annual Celebrity Bartending Fundraiser - Presented by the Opportunities Unlimted of Niagara Foundation Sponsored by the Brickyard Pub & BBQ, this event features local celebrities and well-known community members raising funds for people with disabilities. There will be live entertainment on the patio, a buffet, 50/50 drawings, live auction and prizes throughout the night. All proceeds benefit Opportunities of Niagara, an organization assisting individuals with development disabilities.
Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival - Presented by the Lower River Region Chamber The Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival enters its seventh year on August 22, 23, and 24, 2008. Jazz musicians will perform throughout the village of Lewiston, NY in numerous restaurants and lounges -- as well as at a variety of outdoor sites along Center Street -- on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. All jazz performances are free to the public.

Glenwood Cemetery Association's 145th Anniversary Celebration Presented by the Glenwood Cemetery Association Glenwood Cemetery is the fianl resting place to many prominent figures who played important roles in shaping our history and daily lives today, from Governor Washington Hunt, philanthropist businessman William Kenan Jr. and volleyball inventor William Morgan. The "Step Back In Time" re-enactors from the Niagara county History Center will portray some of these citizens dressed in period attire. Refreshments and horse drawn wagon rides will also be available.
2008 Niagara County Peach Festival - Presented by the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston, NY An old fashion festival complete with a parade, peach shortcake, food, familly activies, ride and games, and live entertainment.
Marble Orchard Ghost Walks - Presented by the Lewiston Council on the Arts Explore the grim and ghastly deeds of Lewiston's best and worst! Hear classical local ghost stories, myths, true tales of tragedy, crime, murder, mystery, love and death. Step back in time with this historical and educational tour as our offbeat theatrical guides take you in to tthe Village Cemetary, Niagara County's oldest public cemetery! Walks show off the unique personality of Lewiston's past and present. Bring a flshlight, rain or shine. Admission : $10 for Adults, $5 for Children under 12
Annual 9/11 Memorial on the Canal - Presented by Absolut Care of Gasport ![]() Memorial service honoring those whose lives were lost in the horrific attacks of 9/11/01, and those currently serving as our 1st responders in the Gasport area.
The Rainbow Classic Dog Show - Presented by Kennel Club of Niagara Falls A 4-day event featuring obedience trails, breed conformation, agility trials, and more. Chicken BBQ and vendors of canine goods on site.

Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival - Presented by the Niagara Celtic Society A celebration of the Celtic hertitage of many of our county's residents. Highland games, traditional food, crafts and music are interactive parts of this event.
Niagara County Bicentennial Commemorative Newspaper Presented by the Metro Retailer, a division of Metro Group, Inc. For more than half a century the Retailer has been an integral part of the communities throughout Niagara County. The Metro Group is proud to produce and distribute a free souvenir edition commemorating Niagara County’s Bicentennial as a thank you to the residents and businesses with whom we’ve developed relationships. Inserted into various editions of the Retailer at the end of the bicentennial season this free piece promises stories from the county’s past. These stories and accompanying photos will be gathered from local historians, area historical societies, chambers of commerce, long-standing advertisers (photos of a company’s first store, etc.) and from county residents sharing their stories with the Metro Group Editorial Department.

Niagara County Historical Society Annual Dinner - Presented by the Niagara County Historical Society This event clebrates the history of the Erie Canal through music and honors our volunteers for their hard work. The program consists of the Dady Brothers performing folk songs from the people who lived and worked on the Erie Canal. Dinner will be provided by Donna Eick from Divine Catering in Niagara County.

Niagara Electric Lights Parade - Presented by the Town of Niagara A parade honoring the Niagara County Bicentennial, with Santa, fireworks, marching bands and elected officals.
Bicentennial Victorian Christmas Eve - Presented by the Niagara County Historical Society Located at the Bond/Hawley House, this National register Home built in 1824 will be the setting for period music, tours of the home, and its inhabitants by docents trained in historical accuracy. The entire twelve furnished rooms will be decorated in the Vistorian style.
