Niagara County Bicentennial Townball Tournament
Presented by the Bicentennial Commission “The weather was gorgeous on the lake at Kempville that day, Our twelve towns, dressed for celebrating and ready to play. There was Jagow at the plate, Lafayette on the rubber, Throwing the first pitch in this Bicentennial summer.” That old American pastime beckons you to the shores of Lake Ontario at Krull Park in Olcott beginning at 9:00 am on August 16. Join the Niagara County Bicentennial Celebration for the first ever “Townball” Tournament. We have openings for 12 teams, so gather 10-14 of your friends and neighbors and sign up your town/city or organization to compete for the town ball championship—bragging rights included! The double elimination tournament style games are for players 16 and over and will last up to 75 minutes (no new innings will begin after 60 minutes). Wooden bats only, please! Not interested in playing? Bring your family, friends, and a picnic for a beautiful day along Lake Ontario. Cheer on your neighbors in this friendly competition and show your support for 200 years of history and community. This will be a tournament for fun and recreation. $200.00 CASH PRIZE to winning team!! Special Bicentennial Commemorative prizes will be awarded to the championship team and runner-up. All participants will receive a Bicentennial commemorative for participating. A *REFUNDABLE fee of $25 will be required for each team. Additionally, each player must fill out and sign a waiver form for insurance purposes. You may make copies as needed.
