Leadership Niagara Presents First Bicentennial Banner to Niagara Falls High School
"On Wednesday March 19, 2008 Leadership Niagara made a presentation to Niagara Falls High School Principal Mark Laurrie and Board of Education Member Nick Valardo of an official Niagara County Bicentennial banner to be prominently displayed within the main entrance foyer of the High School for the remainder of 2008. This banner, which was the first one purchased from the Bicentennial Commission by a community agency, recognizes Leadership Niagara's gratitude to the Niagara Falls School District for hosting the agency at Niagara Falls High School. Also this ceremony served as the kick-off of the High School's observation of the Bicentennial celebration. Niagara County Clerk and Bicentennial Commission Chairperson Wayne Jagow officially presented the Banner to Mr. Laurrie on behalf of Leadership Niagara's Board Chairperson Christine S. O'Hara and Executive Director Richard Laskowski who were also present. Mr. Jagow stated that this was the first of hopefully many such community presentations honoring the Bicentennial celebration and added that it was very appropritate that this ceremony took place in the County's largest educational institution. Also present to represent the NFHS school body was Marc Sturdivant and Kayla Briggs, two of the school's representatives to LYNC, Leadership Niagara's County-wide youth leadership program and Leadership Niagara Board and Bicentennial Commision member Rob Albert."
